History
The Palacio de los Patos was built in 1890 , promoted by Eduardo Moreno, and his wife Filomena Agrela, its author being the architect Francisco Giménez Arévalo .
This is a beautiful mansion that was built in the 19th century in what was then the outskirts of the city.
Currently, the Palacio de los Patos is in the heart of the city, in the Recogidas neighbourhood, although its original location was on the outskirts, surrounded by orchards and on the edge of paths to the Vega.
Palace
Main facade, with entrance porch. On the right the fountain of the ducks that gives it its name.
Due to the aesthetics and the time of its construction, this palace can be considered within the Historicist style.
The skilful combination of classicist elements stands out, such as the pediment that presides over its main facade on Solanillo de Gracia street, and the incorporation of elements of industrial architecture such as the use of cast iron for the entrance porch.
Cataloging
The Palacio de los Patos de Granada is cataloged as an Asset of Cultural Interest, in its type of Monument, and thus appears published in the BOE dated August 27, 1981."
