Auchenblae is a village in the parish of Fordoun in the southern part of Aberdeenshire, formerly Kincardineshire, in the countryside of The Mearns. The parish church was built from 1827-29 by John Smith, who also built the wall and gateway surrounding the graveyard. The neo-perpendicular building with gothic detailing features a tall tower on its western side.

The site of the churchyard, on an elevated site on the south side of the village, has always been an important religious site, with links to St Palladius, who's chapel ruins lie adjacent. The featured gravestone reads as follows:
