William (Bill) John Paterson was born in Nhill, Vic 1901
Bill worked as a Draper and travelled.
Enlisted in WWII in Qld 25th July 1942 in what then was the Citizen Military Forces (which later was to become the Australian Army Reserve (in 1980).
Bill served 3 months in the CMF before enlisting as a Private in the Australian Imperial Force in the same year. Bill fought in New Guinea
Discharged: 1st March 1946.

Bill was married to Evelyn M. Paterson (who was seven years younger than himself).

During his lifetime Bill experience many firsts during the 20th Century including two World Wars, Korea, Vietnam, the Great Depression, Man on the moon, telephones, television and the internet. Wow – Just how many changes he must have seen!
