De luchtalarmsirene is een geluidssignaal om de bevolking te waarschuwen voor gevaarlijke situaties. Voor dit alarmsysteem wordt van oudsher een sirene gebruikt, vandaar dat het alarm ook sirene wordt genoemd.
De luchtalarmsirene werd ooit ingevoerd om de bevolking te waarschuwen voor een luchtaanval (zoals in de Tweede Wereldoorlog), maar kan ook worden gebruikt voor andere gevaren, zoals luchtverontreiniging.
Elke 1e maandag van de maand is er een proef alarm en klinken door heel nederland de sirenes.
