The basis for this Homemade Mailbox is a 20 litre metal drum that has the top cut completely off it. The drum is on its side, with the opened top facing the quiet road, so as to accept any mail thrown at it. While the drum (steam engine) and the cab are painted sky blue, the 10cm diameter piece of metal pipe screwed to top of the drum is painted black, as the smoke stack. The Mailbox is secured by the 40mm diameter metal pipe post being screwed to the base of the drum, as well as screwed to the smoke stack. It looked like fibro sheeting was used for the sides of the cab, with some obtusely angled corrugated iron used for its roof. A pair of metal axles are screwed to bottom side of the drum; with the 'driving wheels' have a red cats-eye reflector, while the rear wheels have a white reflector. It looks like a cake cooling wire rack is placed inside the bottom of the drum / locomotive, so as to elevate any mail deliveries, and minimise problems with rain water ruining the delivery. Hanging below the locomotive Mailbox is a wooden sign with "MAIL TRAIN" on it. Very basic, but well thought out.
