"It is currently the headquarters of the Mercedes Calles and Carlos Ballestero Foundation .

The origins of this building respond to the prototype of a strong house model of the civil architecture of Cáceres at the end of the Middle Ages, whose architectural and technical singularity is what characterizes the historic center of Cáceres. At the time it was the manor house of the Becerra family whose members built it between the mid- 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century . On its façade, a semicircular arch door stands out and on it the presence of two identical coats of arms inside which you can see the barracks of the Becerra, Paredes, Orellana and Ribera families.

The interior, after the restoration of the building, consists of three floors and an area close to 1000 m². The ground floor is intended for the permanent exhibition of a selection of collections, furniture, paintings, crystals and antiques of the founder, Doña Mercedes Calles. The two upper floors have a multipurpose use as rooms for exhibitions, meetings, congresses, training and conferences.

The restoration, rehabilitation of the Palace and subsequent use, contributes to one of the most important purposes of the Foundation: defense, improvement, conservation, national and international projection of the Monumental City of Cáceres."
