One of 19 covered bridges in Ashtabula County, the Harpersfield Road Covered Bridge was built in 1868. After flood washed away part of the north river bed in 1913, a steel addition was added to the bridge. The combined length of the wooden and steel portions of the bridge are 228 feet.
