The Christian Cathedral belongs to the Holy Communion of Churches. According to the Holy Communion Of Churches website: Link

"We’re not Jewish, but we are Ancient Faith Orthodox. We are not Roman, but we are Catholic meaning Universal. We are not Denominational, we are Pre-Denominational."

"The Holy Communion Of Churches (HCOC) is a community of churches, seeking to discover and follow Christ in thought, word, and deed in our generation. The HCOC is a bridge that provides introduction and access to the ancient apostolic faith between the worlds of Traditional Orthodoxy and post-modern Christian spirituality. Without question, The HCOC accepts the Eastern Orthodox Churches as the patristic origin of the Christian faith."

The cornerstone for the Holy Family Church was laid in 1912. Built by by the Diocese of Springfield, the building was completed in 1915. The Diocese of Springfield closed the church in 2009. The building was sold in 2015 for $50,000. It currently serves as the Cathedral for the Holy Communion Of Churches under senior pastor Archbishop Timothy Paul, Ph.D., D.Th.

The church building is impressive in its scale. The façade has a set of steps leading up to a central entrance which is flanked by a pair of hexagonal towers. Above the entrance is a huge multi-part stained glass window with a rounded top.

There are protruding auxiliary entrances on the first bay of the north and south sides. The main block of the church extends for eight additional bays. The north side has large stained glass windows with rounded tops on the upper level. Below is a slanted roof and a seven bay wide extension with two sets of three smaller windows with rounded tops separated by a brick projection with a gable roof. A four story high tower with turrets at each corner of the roof occupies the last bay of the extension. There is a two bay wide addition is attached to the back of the church. The south side has the same configuration except for a three bay wide extension instead of a tower.
