The Lenox Fire Department was formed as a result of the Easter Sunday fire of 1909. This was the first firehouse build in the town and now serves as the headquarters of the Lenox Fire Department.
The two story high Colonial Revival style building was designed by architectural firm of Harding and Seaver and built by Joseph Clifford and Company. The building has a hip roof and constructed of brick with marble trim and foundation. The façade is two bays wide with vehicular doors at the lower level and a pair of 2 by 2 double hung windows flanking an 8 by 8 central window all with marble lintels and sashes at the upper level. Above the windows is a pediment. The firehouse is 4 bays deep each with 6 by 6 double hung windows on the upper and lower levels.
