NL In en rond het bavianen-verblijf in de Stad der Oudheid in Dierenpark Amersfoort is gekozen voor een Egyptisch tintje. Zo is er een echte ‘heilige weg’, geflankeerd door sphinxen gemaakt. Deze loopt ook even buiten het bavianen-verblijf door. Aan het uiteinde staat een obelisk met Egyptische symbolen.

De Stad der Oudheid is een mooi onderdeel van het Dierenpark Amersfoort. Begeef je in het hol van de leeuw in de oude stadskerker. Wees een Perzische koning tussen de tijgers of begroet de ezels als een boerenknecht. Jij bent beland in de Stad der Oudheid. Hier ontdek je hoe mens en dier vroeger samenleefden in de stad.

Betreed de Stad der Oudheid en ontdek de dieren die hier duizenden jaren geleden samenleefden met de mensen. Gieren zweefden boven de stad en vanaf de toren kun jij de leeuwen in de Arena goed in de gaten houden. Struin langs kamelen, griezel bij de krokodillen en blijf eindeloos kijken naar de brutale mantelbavianen. Zodra jij in het Paleis van Koning Darius komt, kijken de tijgers je recht in de ogen.

ENG An Egyptian touch has been chosen in and around the baboon enclosure in the City of Antiquity in Amersfoort Zoo. For example, a real 'sacred road' has been created, flanked by sphinxes. This also continues just outside the baboon enclosure. At the far end is an obelisk with Egyptian symbols.
