The Wellborn Utility District water tank towers over the town of Wellborn and the Brazos County prairielands, south of College Station TX on FM 2154. The water tank serves the unincorporated community of Wellborn, which was annexed into the city of College Station in 2011, over the objection of the citizens of Wellborn.
Wellborn is not going to be rural for much longer: the city of College Station is creeping up on this area, and within the next decade it should be well within the College Station suburban sprawl.
