A tree dedicated to Raymond Galipeau grows on the Social Street side of the Post Office in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It is centered on the entryway doors and edged by the sidewalk and stairs. A polished and honed engraved pink granite tablet at its southeast base reads:
IN
MEMORY OF
RAYMOND F. GALIPEAU
1976 - 1986
A matched pair of deeply carved U.S. MAIL emblems with bald eagles flank the dedication at the upper left and right corners of the face's honed section.
Mr. Galipeau, who died on 2 October 1986, is interred at Resurrection Cemetery, Section: 5, Lot: 646, Grave: 2 in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Other than that, an internet search was unable to find any obituary or additional information.
The Common hawthorn (Crataegus monogyna), also known as one-seed hawthorn, mayblossom, and maythorn, is a species of flowering plant in the rose family Rosaceae.
