In de nacht van 27 op 28 november 1944 om 18.38 uur steeg
de Havilland Mosquito B.Mk. XVI met registratie ML 979 op van
de RAF vliegbasis Little Staughton ten noordwesten van Belford
in Huntingdonshire. Het vliegtuig stortte neer. Hierbij kwam de
24-jarige Kitchen om het leven. Piloot Williamson wist zich per
parachute te redden en kwam in krijgsgevangenschap.

On the night of 27 to 28 November 1944 at 18.38 hours the
the Havilland Mosquito B.Mk. XVI with registration ML 979 took off from
the RAF airbase Little Staughton northwest of Belford in Huntingdonshire.
