"The old port of Antibes, part of the present port going from the Porte Marine to the Bastion Saint-Jaume, is an ancient port: the use of Anse Saint-Roch as a port dates back to the time of the Phocaeans, who used it for trade and as a naval base.

A la sortie du vieil Antibes, dans la continuité du marché provençal, vous pourrez acheter du bon poisson frais, à peine sorti de la mer par les pêcheurs tout juste rentrés au port. Si le lieu reste ouvert de 9h jusqu'à midi (du mardi au dimanche) mieux vaut venir de bonheur pour être sûr de ne pas repartir bredouille.

Vous serez toujours bien reçus par les pêcheurs d’Antibes, qui pêchent généralement au filet, des loups (bar), des bonites, des grondins, des dorades, des rougets puis les vendent dans une ambiance conviviale sur leur étals que vous trouverez quai des pêcheurs (difficile de s’y retrouver avec tous les bateaux du port, mais le quai où a lieu la vente porte bien son nom!)

Le stand de pêcheurs dans le quartier de la Porte Marine à Antibes propose mardi à dimanche des fruits de mer fraîchement pêchés. Il y a moins de cinq exposants sur ce marché. On y vend: poissons et produits de la mer."
