"This monument was erected by public subscription and inaugurated on June 25, 1922.

In the middle of a quadrilateral located along the road, formed on the right by the church, in the background by the town hall, on the left by the post and telegraph offices, is erected the monument to the memory of the dead children of the commune. in the field of honour. It consists of a quadrangular pedestal surmounted by a bronze hairy, in the attitude of rest, the weapon at the foot, facing the road.

Below, a rose wreath is engraved, surrounded by a tricolor ribbon. On a marble slab is the following inscription: the commune of Wissant to its children who died in the field of honor, war 1914-1918.

Two plaques affixed to the sides indicate the names of the 53 soldiers from Wissant who fell in defense of the country. The monument is surrounded by an ornate iron and wood gate.

" Ce monument a été érigé par souscription publique et inauguré le 25 juin 1922.

Au milieu d’un quadrilatère situé en bordure de la route, formé à droite par l’église, au fond par la mairie, à gauche par les bureaux de postes et télégraphes, est érigé le monument à la mémoire des enfants de la commune morts au champ d’honneur. Il se compose d’un piédestal quadrangulaire surmonté d’un poilu en bronze, à l’attitude du repos, l’arme au pied, faisant face à la route.

En dessous, une couronne de rose est gravée, entourée d’un ruban tricolore. Sur une plaque de marbre est l’inscription suivante : la commune de Wissant à ses enfants morts aux champ d’honneur, guerre 1914-1918.

Deux plaques apposées sur les côtés indiquent les noms des 53 soldats de Wissant tombés pour la défense de la patrie. Le monument est entouré d’une grille ouvragée en fer et bois.
