Van interieurdecoratie tot kunstwerken
In het Tegelmuseum vind je indrukwekkende tegeltableaus die eeuwenlang paleizen, kerken, scholen, winkels en huizen versierden. Van Hollandse renaissance naar barok, van tegels in art nouveau en art-decostijl naar kunstwerken van onder meer Maurits Escher en Karel Appel.
Een Nederlandse klassieker
Slechts tientallen jaren geleden waren handgemaakte tegels nog een alledaags verschijnsel in de Nederlandse huizen en gebouwen. Nu dit beeld steeds meer verdwijnt, zorgt het Nederlands Tegelmuseum ervoor dat deze Nederlandse klassieker niet verloren gaat. De voorstellingen op tegels vertellen veel over het dagelijks leven en de veranderingen in de mode toen en nu.

Helene Kröller-Müllerkamer
De kunstverzameling die Helene Kröller- Müller (1869-1939) bijeenbracht voor haar museum is wereldberoemd. Veel minder bekend is dat Helene ook een collectie Delfts aardewerk opbouwde, met ook een reeks oud-Hollandse wandtegels. Deze verzameling ontstond al voordat ze zich op de beeldende kunst ging toeleggen. In de Helene Kröller-Müllerkamer is een deel van haar tegelcollectie te zien. Dit is mogelijk dankzij een langdurig bruikleen van het Kröller-Müller Museum.'

Helene Kröller-Müllerkamer
The art collection that Helene Kröller-Müller (1869-1939) brought together for her museum is world famous. It is much less known that Helene also built up a collection of Delft pottery, including a series of old Dutch wall tiles. This collection was already created before she started to focus on the visual arts. Part of her tile collection can be seen in the Helene Kröller-Müller room. This is possible thanks to a long-term loan from the Kröller-Müller Museum.'
