La place De Gaulle (ou place du Diamant) marque la séparation entre la vieille ville et les nouveaux quartiers. Face à la mer,vous pouvez admirer le monument (1865) dédié à Napoléon et ses quatre frères édifié sur les plans de Violet-le-Duc. En raison de sa forme, il fut surnommé "l'encrier".
