The rustic style Arctic Brotherhood Hall was the first of over 30 Arctic Brotherhood camps build in the Pacific Northwest. The camp is located at 245 Broadway in Skagway, AK.

The Arctic Brotherhood was a fraternal organization that established several camps to serve as the 100,000 gold prospectors that came to Alaska and the Yukon during the gold rush of that began in 1896. In 1899 they established their first camp and their headquarters in Skagway, AK. Membership in the Arctic Brotherhood was limited to white men over 18 years old that lived in the northwest above the latitude 54° 20'.

An historical marker inside the building is explains the purpose of the building. it is inscribed:

BUILT IN 1899 AS HEADQUARTERS FOR ARCTIC
BROTHERHOOD CAMP SKAGWAY NO. 1 THE
BROTHERHOOD WAS ESTABLISHED
FEBRUARY 26, 1899 FOR THE PURPOSES OF
FRATERNAL ENJOYMENT AND MUTUAL AID.
OVER 30 CAMPS WERE ESTABLISHED
THROUGHOUT ALASKA, THE YUKON
AND NORTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA.

The very unusual two story high wood framed building was built in 1899. The façade of the gable roof building is decorated with over 6000 pieces of driftwood. Lighter colored driftwood is also used for the inscriptions: A B SKAGWAY CAMP NO 1 AND 1899.
