[FR] Selon la légende, l'évènement suivant s'est produit le 25 mars 1013.

« Une bergère découvre, dans une fontaine, une statue en bois représentant la Vierge tenant l'enfant Jésus dans ses bras, avec une colombe dans ses mains. Elle rapporte la statue à Briantes où elle est laissée dans l'église. Le lendemain, la statue a disparu mais on la retrouve dans la fontaine. La scène se répète une deuxième fois. On interprète ceci comme la manifestation de l'intention de la Vierge d'être vénérée à cet endroit. »

[EN] According to legend, the following event occurred on March 25, 1013.

"A shepherdess discovered, in a fountain, a wooden statue representing the Virgin holding the baby Jesus in her arms, with a dove in her hands. She brought the statue to Briantes where it was left in the church. The next day, the statue had disappeared but was found in the fountain. The scene is repeated a second time. This is interpreted as the manifestation of the Virgin's intention to be venerated in this place.
