Dogs are welcome in the beer garden as well as out front. We can provide water for the dogs outside however we only allow guide dogs inside the pub itself."

"Large welcoming pub, situated just off the Esplanade, with a good ambience and friendly helpful staff. Popular with tourists and locals alike, with seating outside, and a garden at the rear. Three regular ales are usually on tap and a guest added in summer. Good-value home-cooked food, is served all day, everyday. Especially busy in Sidmouth Folk Week when the garden and car park are given over to events. Dogs are welcome outside but not inside."

"Circa 1840. 2 storeys stuccoed front with plinth. Low pitch gable end slate roof with bracketed eaves. 4 windows 1st floor, recessed sashes, later glazing bars, block sills. Ground floor from left to right. Yard entrance, double doors, lintel with moulded surround - narrow door with rectangular fanlight, reeded doorcase, pointed leaded hood on shaped brackets - tripartite sash window later glazing bars - wider entrance with similar doorcase but shaped tent hood on brackets - another tripar- tite sash window with main entrance adjoining, reeded doorcase and broad hipped leaded hood, small stuccoed projecting bay with side entrance at far end."
