Mount Moriah Cemetery, situated in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania, encompasses nearly 200 acres with approximately 200,000 burials. It was incorporated in 1855. In April 2011, the cemetery was abandoned.

"Mount Moriah Cemetery, situated in Philadelphia and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania encompasses nearly 200 acres with approximately 200,000 burials. In April 2011, the cemetery was abandoned and the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery, Inc. began working to restore the property, which had been neglected for many years. The Mount Moriah Cemetery Association, incorporated in 1855, is still in existence; however, there are no surviving members of the corporation. Since 2014, the cemetery has been under the care of a receivership granted by the Orphans Court of Philadelphia to the non-profit Mount Moriah Preservation Corporation. "George Norton Galloway-Section 149, Lot 48
Civil War Medal of Honor Recipient. Served in the Civil War as a Private in Company G, 95th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Alsops Farm, Virginia on May 8, 1864. His citation simply reads "Voluntarily held an important position under heavy fire". His Medal was issued on October 24, 1895."
