The large, white-coloured, corrugated iron shed has a quite low-pitched corrugated roof, with a similar angled skillion-roofed annexe to the north. There are two large mission brown roller doors that open onto a large concrete apron. At the front of the annexed office is a 2m wide awning. It is all well set back from the quiet local road, and there seems to be sufficient gravel parking for the volunteers. To the north side of the Firehouse is a long draining rack, that looks like it is made of weldmesh fencing.
In October 2019 there were devastating fires in the Manning Valley, some of which this unit attended, and they almost came to grief - as seen on TV, where they had to escape a rapid fire front.
On doing a bit more research on this Firehouse I found the following link, which tells how the previous Rainbow Flat RFB Firehouse was burnt and destroyed in the 2019 fires. Which explains why this building looks in such good condition. The previous brick building was not as big as the current one. (
