The Grand River Hospital is a major hospital serving the Kitchener-Waterloo in Kitchener, Ontario. The hospital is actually one of two separate locations, this is the Kitchener-Waterloo Campus. The Freeport Campus is located at 3570 King Street East, Kitchener. These hospitals merged into a joint operation in 1995.
The original hospital on this site was the Berlin and Waterloo Hospital founded in 1895 with land donated from Joseph E. Seagram (who also constructed a parish hall nearby in honour of his wife)
They have 15 different specialized programs at these hospitals including surgery, stroke, cancer, emergency, and rehabilitation. The cancer centre here opened in 2003.
