This parking spot is reserved for Richard R. Schrock who won the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. He is currently a faculty member at UCR. Taken from Wikipedia, "In 2017, Barish was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics along with Rainer Weiss and Kip Thorne "for decisive contributions to the LIGO detector and the observation of gravitational waves". In 2018, he joined the faculty at University of California, Riverside, becoming the university's second Nobel Prize winner on the faculty."
