DEDICATED TO THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF MADISON COUNTY WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES TO PRESERVE A FREE NATION

Description of Memorial:
The memorial is a large grey granite marker. The side pillars bear the five seals of the Five Armed Services and an MIA/POW seal. The face of the monument bears the text above and the names of the many who served from Madison County. Below these names are a few noted for special distinction: Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Congressional Medal of Honor. The monument is set on a round plaza of red brick pavers; the Battlefield Cross sculpture is at the center of this plaza.
