One of the oldest postcards of the Karel Havlícek Borovský monument. This realphoto postcard by an unknown publisher is from the 1890s. Behind the monument, which was erected in 1883, there is still no vegetation.
Havlícek's monument on a postcard commemorates his journalistic career in Kutná Hora and his victorious trial against the bureaucracy of the Austrian monarchy.
Karel Havlícek Borovský (Borová, today Havlíckova Borová; 31 October 1821 – 29 July 1856) was a Czech writer, poet, critic, politician, journalist, and publisher.
