Zeist is een plaats en gemeente in het midden van de Nederlandse provincie Utrecht. De gemeente telt 66.046 inwoners (31 januari 2022, bron: CBS) en heeft een oppervlakte van bijna 50 km² (waarvan slechts een minieme hoeveelheid water). De gemeente Zeist ligt in het bosrijke gebied van de Utrechtse Heuvelrug en heeft daardoor buiten de woonkernen een overwegend 'groen' karakter.
Naast de hoofdplaats Zeist telt de gemeente vier dorpen: Austerlitz, Bosch en Duin, Den Dolder en Huis ter Heide. Vanwege het kasteel Slot Zeist wordt Zeist wel Slotstad genoemd.

Zeist is a town and municipality in the centre of the Dutch province of Utrecht. The municipality has 66,046 inhabitants (31 January 2022, source: CBS) and covers an area of almost 50 km² (of which only a tiny amount is water). The municipality of Zeist is located in the wooded area of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and therefore has a predominantly 'green' character outside the residential areas.
Besides the main town Zeist, the municipality has four villages: Austerlitz, Bosch en Duin, Den Dolder and Huis ter Heide. Because of the castle Slot Zeist is also called Slotstad.
