A fountain consisting of seven stainless steel mushrooms was reinstalled in 2021 with the conversion of a busy road into a car free pedestrian alley. The mushrooms, a gift of local entrepreneurs, were originally installed at the Henri-Dunantplein. The were disassembled some years ago and stored until this conversion was planned.
The mushrooms are of different height between 1 meter and nearly 2m with a cap of about 45cm in diameter and a stem of 10cm in diameter. A short pipe on top of the mushroom head releases the water equally so that it flows down in a ring. The water for the fountain is taken from the local ground water, the arcitectural firm OKRA and the building company Rots Maatwerk were responsible for the conversion.
