The First Church of Christ Scientist (Erste Kirche Christi, Wissenschafter) was founded in 1879 by Mary Baker Eddy. In 1896 started the First Church of Christ Scientist in Germany. In Berlin, The First Church of Christ Scientist started 20 September 1900, where the services took place in private homes.
Between 1936-37 this church was built and the first service was held in 1937. However, the building was destroyed in 1943 during the Second World War. It was not until 1956 that the building was built again in collaboration with the architect Kurt Bornemann. The first service took place on July 7, 1957.
