At the beginning of the cemetery is a large stone inscribed with:
The land on which this cemetery stands is a gift from the French people for the eternal resting place of the sailors, soldiers and airmen honored here.

Located a few kilometers from Juno Beach, the Beny-sur-Mer cemetery is one of two Canadian military cemeteries in Normandy. In total there are 4,800 graves of fallen soldiers during the summer of 1944. This indicates the significance of Canadian participation in the liberation of France and Northwestern Europe.

Many of the fallen in this Canadian War Cemetery were soldiers of the 3rd Canadian Division who were killed on June 6, 1944 or the days after when the Division advanced to Caen and had to fight the German 716th Division and the 21st Armored Division.

This cemetery contains 2048 graves, mostly Canadians. 19 of them remained unknown.

Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery is a Commonwealth cemetery, located in the French municipality of Reviers (department of Calvados). The cemetery has a square ground plan with an area of ??approximately 2.5 hectares. It is located 1,700 m east of the center of Reviers (Église Saint-Vigor) along the road to Douvres-la-Délivrande. On the street side is the name stone with an entrance with columns on each side. After a 60 m long access area is the Stone of Remembrance with a shelter on the left and right in which the register is located in one of them. At the right shelter there is a staircase through which you can enter a terrace from where you have a nice overview of the cemetery. Behind it is a rectangular lawn surrounded by a hedge and with an open passage flanked by two columns. There are four rest benches. The Cross of Sacrifice is central to the cemetery. There is a service house at the back. The graves are divided into 16 regular beds with 8 rows of graves. The cemetery is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
