I have not found any information about the meaning. However, four dated predecessors are depicted on a fountain in the village, albeit without colors. The cross probably dates back to 1290. In 1652 a triple hill and four stars were added, in 1700 another star and two hills. The eagle appears in 1867, but then the stars were reduced to three. Since 1991 it exists in its present form. The only municipal incorporation I know of was in 1923, so that seems out of the question as a reason.

I found the flag in front of the church in the center of the village along with those of the Canton of Valais and Switzerland, and a fourth that I could not identify. The flags are bow flags and not the traditional squares.

Ich habe keinerlei Informationen über die Bedeutung gefunden. Allerdings sind auf einem Brunnen im Dorf vier datierte Vorgängerversionen dargestellt, wenn auch ohne Farben. Das Kreuz stammt wohl schon von 1290. 1652 kam ein Dreiberg und vier Sterne dazu, 1700 ein weiterer Stern und zwei Hügel. Der Adler erscheint 1867, dafür wurden die Sterne auf drei vermindert. Seit 1991 existiert es in der heutigen Form. Die einzige mir bekannte Eingemeindung war 1923, das scheint also nicht als Grund in Frage zu kommen.

Ich fand die Flagge vor der Kirche im Dorfzentrum zusammen mit denen vom Kanton Wallis und der Schweiz, sowie einer vierten, die ich nicht identifizieren konnte. Die Flaggen sind Bogenfahnen und nicht traditionell quadratisch.
