The Trilha do Morro da Urca (Morra da Urca Trail) takes one along the south side of Morro da Urca, the peak just west of Sugar Loaf Mountain. This is one of several flora and fauna identification signs seen along the trail. This sign is at the base of a tree and identifies it as "Pau-Brazil" or the Brazil-wood tree. This tree is the premier wood for making bows for stringed instruments, and is also the source of a valuable red dye.
