Metodej Vlach (06.07.1887 - 08.02.1957) was pioneer of Czech aviation. He was the first Czech to took off with own manufactured airplane with engine of Czech production (Laurin & Klement). First public flight was done on 8th of November in 1912. There were 6 flights in height of 20 metres and length of 300-500 metres. He kept on with improvement but only till the start of WWI and ban for flying was declared. He disassembled the airplane, burned wooden parts and returned engine to company Laurin & Klement.
