The sign is for the Millbee, Gooreng Gooreng - indigenous group's name for Turtle. Easily recognised by their carapace and flippers, this area is one where 6 (SIX) different turtle species could be seen. The sign has a couple of photos, including a hatchling, and life-sized diagram of some turtle eggs, so you can appreciate their size. The sign also details 'Local Risks to Fish' - Light Pollution, Boat Strikes and Loss of Habitat - and 'How You Can Help'.

This is one of six signs around a cyclepath loop, on the northern breakwall/spit of Gladstone Harbour.
