This stone memorial is dedicated to the men of Wrenthorpe Colliery who died in WWI.

The colliery and memorial are in the Wrenthorpre area of Wakefield. It stands in the corner of the churchyard of St. John's Church and is in the form of a solid plain Latin Cross on an octagonal plinth and two stepped base. There is a bronze wreath on front face, underneath the cross and a bronze plaque with the following inscription.
