YOUR MEMORY HALLOWED
IN THE LAND YOU LOVED.
The phrase 'YOUR MEMORY HALLOWED IN THE LAND YOU LOVED' is the last line of the first stanza of the hymn 'O Valiant Hearts' written by Sir John Stanhope Arkwright after the First World War and set to music by the Rev. Dr. Charles Harris.

It was originally underneath the WWI inscription but was moved to below the WWII inscription when that was added.

A modern addition to the memorial is silhouettes of three soldiers standing in front of a flower bed. This was added during the centenary celebrations commemorating the end of WWI.
