EN: The Augstborg cheese dairy is located right next to the train station in Turtmann. The cheese dairy is a cooperative made up of dairy farmers from 16 municipalities in the western part of the Upper Valais. Next to the entrance are the coats of arms of the participating communes with an old cheese pot.

The cheese dairy produces mainly raclette cheese, which has won several awards. The approximately 320 tons produced annually are sold in the cooperative's own store in the village center and also online throughout Switzerland. In addition, some regional hard cheeses are also produced.

The building also has a showroom that can be rented for groups.


DE: Die Augstborgkäserei befindet sich gleich neben dem Bahnhof von Turtmann. Die Käserei ist eine Genossenschaft, der die Milchbauern von 16 Gemeinden im westlichen Oberwallis angehören. Neben dem Eingang befinden sich auch die Wappen der teilnehmenden Gemeinden mit einem altem Käsereitopf.

Die Käserei produziert vor allem Raclette-Käse, der schon mehrfach ausgezeichnet wurde. Die etwa 320 Tonnen jährlich werden im genossenschaftseigenen Laden im Dorfzentrum und auch Online in der ganzen Schweiz verkauft. Daneben entstehen noch einige regionale Hartkäsesorten.

Das Gebäude verfügt auch über einen Schauraum, der für Gruppen gemietet werden kann.
