Yukon River camp is a must stop along the Dalton Highway, since there is no more gasoline to be found until you get to Coldfoot Checkpoint, near Prudhoe Bay.
As part of our guided tour to the Arctic Circle, we stopped at this truck stop to eat her dinner which was provided by the tour company: two cold sandwiches a bag of chips. You buy a drink here, and there is also exclusive Dalton Highway and Arctic Circle merchandise available for the purchase.
It's also the last spot on the Dalton Highway with flush toilets (unheated building) or a shower (some hot water available) before you get to Coldfoot. It is pit toilets from here on out if you pass on by.
The ladies who run the stop know all truckers to come through here, and they make damn fine cheeseburgers if you can spare the time to have them fix one up for you.
