Inside the nave we can see a magnificent polychrome wooden altarpiece dating from the eighteenth century and located on the High Altar.

The entrance has a semicircular arch on a protruding rectangular surface that is crowned with a triangular pediment. Above this doorway is the belfry with a single hole.

It stands out for its simple construction topped by a brick belfry with a triangular pediment and a bell. It has a single nave, formerly covered with wooden armor, and a square main chapel with a hemispherical vault on pendentives and a presbytery raised on steps and a square-based alcove.

The façade has a portal with a semicircular access door flanked by pilasters on which a triangular pediment rises. Under its protection, the original bending could be extended towards the slope and hillside around the Plaza de la Vera Cruz. (Source PGOU Advance Document).

The hermitage was originally owned by the State, although its worship was paid for by the residents of the municipality.
Together with the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, it is treated at some length by Rosario Camacho in her 1981 publication Málaga Barroca and in 1985 in the Artistic Inventory of Málaga and its province.
