La Iglesia de San Sebastián se encuentra situada en la C/ Cañamaque o también llamada Calle Larga, en la localidad malagueña de Gaucín, a pocos minutos del Castillo del Águila.
La Iglesia de San Sebastián de Gaucín fue fundada en el año 1487, algo después de que los Reyes Católicos conquistaran este territorio. Sus obras fueron acometidas en su mayoría en S. XVI aunque se realizaron reformas en el transcurso del los siglos XVII y XVIII. Se sabe que Pedro Díaz Palacios dirigió obras de reparación y mejoras en el 1614 y que fueron ejecutadas por los carpinteros Bartolomé de Alcántara, Diego Jiménez Sarriá y Diego Jiménez Carrasco, todos ellos malagueños. La solería del templo religioso también sufrió obras de mejora en 1721.
La Iglesia de San Sebastián en su interior se organiza en planta en tres naves a las cuales se les han ido adosando capillas laterales y el ingreso es lateral; la cabecera es cuadrada y está cubierta por una cúpula de media naranja sobre pechinas y a ambos lados del presbiterio existen sendas capillas laterales abiertas cada una a las naves laterales y cubiertas por bóvedas de arista.
La sacristía se halla detrás del presbiterio a la que da acceso una bella y artística puerta, en madera noble, que fue construida en 1726 en Cartajima.
Las naves están cubiertas por una armadura de par y nudillo con tirantes de lazo en madera de buena calidad, las naves están separadas por pilares cuadrados con columnas adosadas que sustentan arcos peraltados. A comienzos de 2012 se pintaron de dorado las molduras de los capiteles de las columnas, que reproducen la forma de un trozo de sencillo entablamento. Salvo por estos detalles las paredes interiores están pintadas de blanco, el suelo presenta baldosas blancas y oscuras en ajedrezado y a los pies de la nave del Evangelio se eleva el coro, con balaustrada de madera. A los pies de la iglesia, al lado contrario del testero, se encuentra la capilla bautismal, con una pila, y separada por una reja que presenta formas sinuosas en S y C contrapuestas.
Al exterior la Parroquia de San Sebastián presenta una fachada sencilla de ladrillo. El vano de la entrada se inserta en un arco escarzano flanqueado por columnas adosadas sobre plinto y rematado el conjunto por un frontón triangular. Esta portada está pintada de un color rojizo mientras que el tímpano del frontón y el resto de paramentos están encalados. A la izquierda de la fachada principal sobresale el cuerpo cuadrangular de la torre campanario, también en ladrillo, decorada en el último cuerpo con pilastras.

The sacristy is behind the presbytery to which access is given by a beautiful and artistic door, made of noble wood, which was built in 1726 in Cartajima.
The naves are covered by a pair and knuckle armor with bow braces in good quality wood, the naves are separated by square pillars with attached columns that support banked arches. At the beginning of 2012, the moldings on the capitals of the columns were painted gold, which reproduce the shape of a piece of simple entablature. Except for these details, the interior walls are painted white, the floor has white and dark checkered tiles and at the foot of the Gospel nave stands the choir, with a wooden balustrade. At the foot of the church, on the opposite side of the front wall, is the baptismal chapel, with a font, and separated by a fence that presents sinuous forms in contrasting S and C.
On the outside, the Parish of San Sebastián presents a simple brick façade. The entrance opening is inserted in a slender arch flanked by columns attached to a plinth and topped off by a triangular pediment. This doorway is painted in a reddish color while the tympanum of the pediment and the rest of the walls are whitewashed. To the left of the main façade stands out the quadrangular body of the bell tower, also made of brick, decorated in the last body with pilasters.
