Approximately 100 meters away from the sea, there is the lost cemetery of Cofete. Locals, vagabonds, and drowning victims lie buried here: A hole in the sand dunes, a mound of volcanic rock, a makeshift wooden cross made of crate boards, occasionally a name. Above all this rushes the regular trade winds in different strengths with the beach sand blown up to the graves, forming small dunes at each plot. An image of lostness - but also romance. The tracks in the fine sand are blown away instantly, you are alone with the lonely dead. A symbol of the transience of human life!
Burial Location: In the middle of the graveyard
