"Pastoor J.Th. Luycks van de Onze Lieve Vrouw ten Hemelopnemingkerk in Huissen gaf opdracht aan de architect Gerard te Riele om een kapel voor de zusters te ontwerpen. De Sint Antoniuskapel is een eenbeukige in neogotische stijl gebouwde kapel met een tongewelf van stucwerk. Zij werd in 1891 gerealiseerd en door de pastoor aan de zusters ter beschikking gesteld en in 1896 aan de zusters geschonken.
De bouw van het kloostergebouw
De zusters gaven in 1935 opdracht om een nieuw klooster te bouwen. Naar ontwerp van G.M. Leeuwenberg werd het klooster gebouwd in de stijl van de Delftse School. Het armengesticht en de schoolvleugel werden gesloopt. Gerealiseerd werden twee gebouwen met een binnentuin die door een rondlopende kloostergang met elkaar werden verbonden. Op dat moment werd de Sint Antoniuskapel gerestaureerd. Het nieuwe complex bestond uit een gasthuis aan de voorzijde, het zusterhuis aan de achterzijde, de Sint Antoniuskapel en een pension.
Het kloostercomplex werd in het oorlogsgeweld van 1944 zwaar beschadigd, maar kon in tegenstelling tot de kerk worden hersteld, waarschijnlijk onder leiding van architect Leeuwenberg. De kapel overleefde de oorlog ongeschonden.
Het gebruik na 1965
De zusters verkochten in 1965 het Zusterhuis (achterzijde van het klooster) aan de Zusters Penitenten uit Reek. Deze verhuisden naar Huissen en vestigden daar hun klooster Nazareth, toegankelijk vanaf de Vierakkerstraat. Het Gastenhuis aan de Langekerkstraat werd verkocht aan het bejaardentehuis Sancta Maria. De zusters verhuisden naar nieuwbouw voor de kapel. Het klooster Nazareth kreeg een gastenhuis aan de Vierakkerstraat, het huidige Hof van Hessen.
Het voormalig gastenhuis van het Sint-Elisabethklooster aan de Langekerkstraat is in 1977 aangekocht door de gemeente en verbouwd tot gemeentehuis. In 1988 kocht de gemeente ook het klooster Nazareth. Het gehele gebouw werd in gebruik genomen als gemeentehuis en is door de gemeente verbouwd en uitgebreid. Het Hof van Hessen werd ter beschikking gesteld aan de Historische Kring Huessen. De kloostertuin werd ingericht als het Raadhuisplein. In 2011 is het pand door de gemeente verlaten. Na een lange periode van leegstand is het gebouw in gebruik genomen als huisvesting van de openbare bibliotheek en als appartementencomplex. De na 1997 gerestaureerde kapel is thans o.a. in gebruik als trouwlocatie."

Pastor J.Th. Luycks of the Onze Lieve Vrouw ten Hemelopnemingkerk in Huissen commissioned the architect Gerard te Riele to design a chapel for the sisters. The Sint Antonius chapel is a chapel built in neo-Gothic style with a barrel vault of stucco. It was realized in 1891 and made available to the sisters by the pastor and donated to the sisters in 1896.
The construction of the monastery building
In 1935 the sisters ordered the construction of a new convent. The monastery was built in the Delft School style after a design by G.M. Leeuwenberg. The poor asylum and the school wing were demolished. Two buildings with an inner garden were realized, which were connected by a circular cloister. At that time, the Saint Anthony Chapel was being restored. The new complex consisted of a guest house at the front, the sister house at the rear, the Sint Antonius chapel and a guest house.
The monastery complex was heavily damaged in the war violence of 1944, but unlike the church, it could be restored, probably under the supervision of architect Leeuwenberg. The chapel survived the war unscathed.
Use after 1965
In 1965 the sisters sold the Sister House (rear of the convent) to the Sisters Penitents from Reek. They moved to Huissen and established their monastery Nazareth there, accessible from the Vierakkerstraat. The Guest House on the Langekerkstraat was sold to the Sancta Maria retirement home. The sisters moved into a new building in front of the chapel. The Nazareth monastery was given a guest house on the Vierakkerstraat, the current Hof van Hessen.
The former guest house of the Sint-Elisabeth convent on the Langekerkstraat was purchased by the municipality in 1977 and converted into a town hall. In 1988, the municipality also bought the Nazareth monastery. The entire building was used as a town hall and has been renovated and expanded by the municipality. The Hof van Hessen was made available to the Historical Circle Huessen. The monastery garden was laid out as the Raadhuisplein. The building was abandoned by the municipality in 2011. After a long period of vacancy, the building has been used as housing for the public library and as an apartment complex. The chapel, which was restored after 1997, is currently used as a wedding location, among other things."
