The Great as it is known is home to an active and enthusiastic congregation. The inside is one of Sydney's architectural wonders with a high ceiling with spectacular stars. The building is nestled in amongst high rise buildings and opposite Hyde Park.
Although closed to the public, the synagogue have guided tours for private groups and has recently held a series of well reviewed concerts. Sydney Open held each November has the synagogue as one of its venues.
