The metal silhouette soldiers are located in a Garden of Remembrance, situated opposite St Thomas Church on The Avenue in Kidsgrove.

The remembrance garden is peaceful setting with a war memorial, wall of remembrance, grass, trees and benches. The inscription at the gates reads 1914 1918 Memorial Gardens 1939 1945.

The sculptures are constructed from black metal and show the outline of a soldier in uniform wearing a helmet, carrying a back-pack and holding a gun that is resting on the ground. There are two life size
soldiers standing on the ground near the benches and two smaller one standing at either end of the wall of remembrance behind the war memorial.
