"At the time, the Citadel was a peninsula, which owed its opening up to the construction, in the early 1990s, of three bridges: the University bridge towards the Chaussée des Darses, the Pont de la Citadel on the outskirts of the community hotel and the Texel bridge, which today opens onto the new Grand Large district."
