Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception is locally known as Saint Nicholas Cathedral after the cathedral that once occupied the site. The mosaic is set within a Romanesque arch. It depicts an very large St. Nicholas carrying a small boat with five occupants and a cross. The occupants are caught in a storm and are praying towards St. Nicholas. A shaft of light is over St. Nicolas' tilted head. At the bottom of mosaic three small people are raising their arms towards St. Nicolas.
A sign at the base of the mosaic is inscribed:
