At the West River Trail, on the north side of 10th Street, is a somewhat hidden marker placed by the Oklahoma City Daughters of the American Revolution.
A lone bench faces the marker which has pavers in front of it. This is a wooded area on the East Bank of the river, so please be careful of the steep drop nearby and the massive pile of ants.
The text is legible but the Golden Wheel is broken. The main structure is approximately 7 ft high and a few feet wide, with the plaque about halfway vertical.

Inscription:
1858: Jesse Chisholm opened trading post.
1859: Col. B.L.E. Bonneville and troop escorted Congressman J.S. Phelps to meet the Comanches.
1865: Council called between Comanches, Kiowas and Confederate leaders.
1884: Saw mill was set up; Barracks built for troop detailed to cut up timber for Ft. Reno from 1000 acre government reserve.
1889: Opened for settlement.
