Le port de l'Ile-Rousse, initialement créé par Pascal Paoli afin de concurrencer le port gênois de Calvi, aura fini par supplanter ce dernier. Si pendant de nombreuses années ces deux ports ont accueillis des bateaux de croisière, la menace terroriste (et les mesures de sécurité imposées), ajouté à l'exiguité du port de Calvi ont conduit ce dernier à stopper l'accueil des croisières et navire de liaison.
Le port de l'Ile-Rousse s'est donc imposé et accueille désormais toutes les navettes en provenance du continet et d'Italie ainsi que les bateaux de croisière en été.
The port of Ile-Rousse, initially created by Pascal Paoli in order to compete with the Genoese port of Calvi, will have ended up supplanting the latter. If for many years these two ports have welcomed cruise ships, the terrorist threat (and the security measures imposed), added to the smallness of the port of Calvi have led the latter to stop the reception of cruises and ships from connection.
The port of Ile-Rousse has therefore imposed itself and now welcomes all shuttles from the continent and Italy as well as cruise ships in summer.
