Perryville United Methodist Church and Cemetery are on the east side of FM 852 in Perryville. Both the church and the cemetery are in active use. A historical marker is near the church information sign.
Perryville United Methodist Church was organized in 1879 by 38 charter members as the Marvin Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church. The Reverend A.K. Hughes served as the first pastor. J.D. Hallonquist donated land to the church in 1887, and church buildings were erected here in 1887 and 1915. Many descendants of the charter members continue a long history of service to the Church and to Perryville.
There are several Woodman of the World grave markers in the cemetery. The marker for Leonidas O. Walling also bears a Dove of Peace.
