The Bailey House was constructed in 1909 by John T. Bailey and his wife Lucy; they raised a family of four here. After John's death, Lucy (who lived in this house until 1973 before passing at age 103) became the first female County Clerk in Rockwall County, serving from 1927 to 1935. A historical marker in front of the house gives some details.
